About South Road Dental Practice in Stourbridge
South Road Dental Practice was established in 2004. We are located just outside of Stourbridge town centre. We are a family orientated practice and we provide both NHS and Private dentistry and give the necessary support to our patients to ensure they have a healthy mouth. We are one of 70 practices currently taking part in a Government Pilot Scheme to promote better Oral Hygiene.
We have an experienced team of four dentists, one mael and three female. Two of our dentists have special interests in cosmetic dentistry and are able to offer treatments such as QST (Quick Straight Teeth) and Invisalign (invisible braces). We also have three hygienists. Our surgeries are equipped to the highest standards and our staff are on a continued professional development programme to ensure that we adhere to all current protocols.
We have two ground floor surgeries to treat the disabled and also disabled toilet facilities on the ground floor. Our dental practice is Baby Friendly, which means we accept breast-feeding mothers.
Please contact us on reception to discuss your requirements.
The UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative
Public Health Dudley and the Local Authority are undertaking the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative to promote breastfeeding and increase the number of mothers who breastfeed.
By displaying a ‘breastfeeding welcome’ sticker a clear message is given to mothers that breastfeeding is acceptable in the surgery.
If mothers are happy to feed in the reception area, this is fine, if there is a private area for them to feed and this is requested, then this is fine too.
If there is a complainant, please move the complainant to an alternative area to wait and not the breastfeeding mother. It is now law that mothers can breastfeed in public and this is explained in the Maternity Action information sheet Breastfeeding in Public Places (PDF).
If a mother asks for breastfeeding advice, please direct her to the Health Visitors, Buddies, or the nearest Children Centre. By contacting the Family Information Service on 01384 814398, information will be given about how to get in touch with the nearest Children Centre where a Buddy can be contacted. Leaflets advertising the buddies are available from Diane Woolliscroft.
You will also be able to access High Street premises that welcome breastfeeding mothers from the Family Information Service web site.
